Why does Qanexus exist?
Qanexus is the result of 10 years of frustration as a tester on anything from microchips to financial back office systems. The problem is always the same:
- Decide what you are going to test and how you are going to do that
- Record what you did because inevitably somebody will ask the question later
1. gives you test cases and test scripts, 2. gives you test results.
If you look around the world of testing and validation, there are all sorts of methods of doing this ranging from the basic (John tested it) to the fully fledged enterprise class system complete with company wide reporting and risk management.
The problem is that you can either use standard office tools (pen, paper, wordprocessors, spreadsheets) or computer based tools that come complete with a captial P Process and lots of requirements to organize things in any number of ways that make sense if you are writing Space Shuttle code but seem somewhat overkill for the wast majority of software testing efforts.
Qanexus was created to fit into that middle ground between generic tools that don't really help and the big enterprise class systems that are just way to complicated and expensive for a small test team.
